What is the urgent care Clinic?

The urgent care clinic, is a service provided across all doctors within the FHO that provides access to our physicians outside regular clinic hours for urgent matters.

Why do you offer this service?

The urgent care clinic is designed for patients who are unable to see a doctor in a reasonable time-frame, or for those times when an non-emergency medical need arises unexpectedly and urgent medical attention from a physician is necessary.

Which physician runs the after-hours clinic?

Physicians in the FHO rotate responsibility for the clinic on a daily basis. Staff cannot disclose which doctor is on call but may let you know if its a male or female physician.

Where is the urgent care clinic?

The location of the urgent care clinic rotates between our clinic, and the clinics of Dr. Eliza Lai/Dr. Dalal Kazandji and Dr. Jeffry Wang (Markham Heritage Health). We are all located at 6633 Highway 7 in Markham.

Should I visit a walk-in clinic?

We ask you to avoid walk-in clinics that are not affiliated with our FHO. As a patient of the Markham Medical Clinic, you are entitled to take advantage of the urgent care clinic set up by our doctors and our affiliated FHO partners. Every time you access walk-in clinics, your family provider gets penalized from the Ministry of Health and will receive a report. Multiple instances of this will result in your family provider sending you a notice letter.
